My name is Ranjan Das and I am from the Temple city of Bhubaneswar in the beautiful Indian state of Odisha.
I am a doctor. I completed my MBBS from SCB Medical College, Cuttack and Masters in Medical Science and Technology (MMST) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. I worked for thirteen years in the corporate world as a Physician, a consultant in Medical Technology and Pharmaceuticals industries and designing and implementing Patient Support Programmes on ground.
During these thirteen years of interacting with people from diverse cultures and attitudes, I found that every single day of each person around me is a story worth knowing and getting amazed. I also realized that pain and fear connect two persons more strongly than happiness and pleasure.
I am an obese man, with my waistline at 52 inches, today. That, is a big pain in my life. I wont say I am proud of that flab billowing outside over my belt each moment. And I know there are many many many people experiencing the exact same agony if not less, day in and day out. No one, believe me, no one can feel it if he/she is not living it. And I want to connect and share with those living this pain.
That’s where I have begun to understand that blogging is a powerful platform for getting connected with people who are living the pain of being obese. This is my first attempt at blogging. I don’t have any idea how this works. I might be wrong in grammar, the presentation might not look that jazzy, the theme and colours might be off the sense but, the pain is real.
Join me as I try and undertake a journey beginning with this 52 inches of flab. Lets do this together. Lets Live it to Feel it!!
